July 12th, 2005 by gary

Exceptional sales for the month of June 2005, has given Suzuki every reason to celebrate.

Whilst much of the sales success can be attributed to the popular light passenger car, the Suzuki Swift, retail sales of other Suzuki models have also been strong, including the APV Commercial Van launched on 24th June 2005.

An impressive 1,359 units were sold overall in June 2005, with Suzuki achieving an increase in sales of over 70% compared with results issued at the same time last year.

The Swift has exceeded Suzuki’s expectations since going on sale in February this year, selling a total of 902 units for the month of June.

Enjoying a 9.7% share of the competitive light passenger car market, the recent results have the Swift outselling the Ford Fiesta, Mazda 2, Holden Barina and the Honda Jazz (hatch).

With the newly launched APV Commercial Van on sale now and the new model Grand Vitara to be released later this year, Suzuki expects its successful sales to continue throughout the year.

Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) was first founded in 1909, and since then has grown into a worldwide company of almost 40,000 people, who create and distribute products in more than 190 nations. Suzuki’s current annual global sales volume is just over 1.9 million units, surpassing the sales of respected Japanese brands such as Mazda, Subaru and Mitsubishi.
