June 3rd, 2005 by gary
The 5 millionth Peugeot 206 built since its launch in late 1998, recently rolled off the production line in Mulhouse, France.
In less than seven years, the car which has been one of the best selling cars in Europe, is set to beat the all-time production record for any Peugeot model. Currently that title belongs to the famous Peugeot 205, with 5,278,000 examples built between 1983 and 1998.
The five millionth 206 built was in the form of a 206CC (coupe cabriolet), which is destined for Germany where, for the sixth year in succession, the 206 has been voted best imported small car by readers of Auto Motor und Sport.
The Peugeot 206 is one of the most stylish small cars on Australian roads today, and with pricing starting at only $18,990 it represents excellent value for money. The 206 range also features the sporty 206 GTi and 206 GTi 180, as well as the classy 206CC, from only $32,990.
